# Channels

> Connect the social accounts you publish to.

A **channel** is one connected social account. Postbase publishes to the
channels you select in the composer.

## Supported platforms

| Platform  | Notes                                                                     |
| --------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| X | Posts and threads. Bring-your-own app keys on every plan. |
| LinkedIn | Posts to your profile. Extra posts publish as a first comment. |
| Instagram | Business or Creator accounts (linked to a Facebook Page). Media required. |
| TikTok | Video or photo carousels only — no text-only posts. |
| YouTube   | Video uploads.                                                            |
| Bluesky | Posts and threads (handle + app password). |
| Mastodon | Any instance — approve on your own server. |

## Connecting an account

1. Open **Channels**.
2. Pick a platform and choose **Connect**.
3. Authorize Postbase on the provider. Postbase only requests permission to
   publish — nothing else.

<Note>
  When you connect an account, Postbase captures its display name, avatar, and
  verified status so previews look like the real thing.
</Note>

## Managing channels

Connected accounts show under **Connected**, with the account's avatar, handle,
and status. Use **Add another** to connect a second account on the same
platform, or **Disconnect** to remove one.

Your plan sets how many channels you can connect — see [Plans](/cloud/plans).
